Calling All Cheese Addicts!
Before I started a low carb keto lifestyle, I loved crackers. Give me ALL the Cheez-Its, especially the Hot & Spicy flavor. Unfortunately, when you switch to keto/gluten free lifestyle, your cracker options are incredibly limited. Thus, this cheese crisps-cracker substitute recipe was born!
Fortunately, I LOVE cheese, and decided to figure out a way to make crispy cheese squares in my own kitchen. And it worked! This keto recipe for cheese crisps is simple, quick, and utterly addicting.
For this recipe, I used Sargento Thinly Sliced Cheese. I chose to experiment with pepper jack, provolone and sharp cheddar. And it was SO EASY! I was seriously amazed at how crispy, delicious, and SIMPLE this was. So grab your favorite sliced cheese and make some crispy squares with me!

Preheat your oven to 300F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Quarter your cheese slices, either straight or diagonally. I experimented with both. I found that the triangles picked up dip more easily.
Place on baking sheet and sprinkle with salt or whatever seasoning you’d like to use. For this recipe, I used Flavor God’s cajun seasoning as I was pairing them with crab rangoon dip. Guys, this low carb crab rangoon dip is TO DIE FOR and you can find the recipe here!
Place in oven and cook for 18-20 minutes until crispy and a nice golden color. Remove from oven and allow to cool before eating. Store them in an air-tight container for up to 3 days.
Experiment with your favorite cheese! I found the sharp cheddar and pepper jack to be incredibly good, while the provolone was pretty mild. Not a bad thing. Mild crisps work well with dips such as guacamole or salsa.
If you’re hesitant to try this low carb cheese crisp recipe but are interested in a good cracker substitute, I highly recommend Whisps. All of the flavors are fantastic with the asiago and pepper jack being my favorite. They’re a great snack and work well as a crouton replacement in salads.
