We live in an extremely convenient world, and part of this journey for us is slowing down. When it comes to eating clean and healthy, this seems to go hand in hand. The other day, I played around with turning one of our favorite comfort foods, keto, low-carb friendly, Philly Cheesesteak Casserole. It’d been quite some time since I’d made it. In that time, I’d ditched most store-bought spices in favor of making my own or using FlavorGod* seasonings. However, this recipe used seasoned salt, something I hadn’t tried making on my own before. Fortunately, this recipe is the best and easiest homemade seasoning salt!
*Note: FlavorGod seasonings are all non-GMO, gluten free, and keto friendly! My favorites are pizza, everything, cajun lover’s, and ranch. They’re ALL fantastic, though. If you want to check them out, click this link for 5% off your order.
When I went to the store to get fresh produce, I admit I was feeling a bit lazy. I found myself in the spice aisle, in front of the seasoning salt. I picked up one, turned it over, surprised to find unnecessary ingredients on the label. Maltodextrin? Corn starch? Tricalcium Phosphate? None of that is needed for this dish! After checking a couple more brands, I realized this time I was going to have to put some effort into it. Making a note of the other spices on the label, I came home. It took a few different tries to get the perfect taste I was looking for, but once I did, it was so worth it.
And you guys, it was so easy! I guarantee you have most, if not all, of these seasonings already in your pantry! So check out the recipe for the best and easiest homemade seasoning salt below. I promise, you’ll never want to pick up store bought seasoning salt ever again!
